How to become a more mindful, resilient and confident parent for my primary school age child

Course presenter: Julia Langensiepen, Psychotherapist and life-coach, NurturingLife

This parenting course will run at the same time, Wednesdays, 10-11.30 am, for 5 weeks via Zoom.

Guiding a child aged 6 -11 with ADHD through their time at primary school can feel like a daunting task for many parents. However, with the right attitude, self-awareness, tools, and understanding parenting your child can be exciting, rewarding and even enjoyable.

This is what you will learn in this course: Why children behave as they do. How to translate ‘Childish’ into adult language and avoid taking things personally. How to bounce back when the going gets tough and take responsibility for lowering your own stress levels. How to better understand your own needs and become much nicer to yourself. How changing your communication/behaviour patterns will have a hugely beneficial impact on your relationship with your child.

You need courage to go onto this course - active participation in all exercises and discussions is needed for maximum benefit. Hopefully, by the last session, you will have bonded with parents who are in the same boat as you and stay connected beyond this course.

The cost of the course is £120 per person. However, as we welcome both parents attending the course, there is a 50% discount for the second parent. Please include your telephone in your email request so that we can collect payment for the second parent.

We do have a limited number of assisted places available at the discounted price of £15 for those suffering financial hardship. To apply for an assisted place contact jenny.c@adhdembrace.org outlining your circumstances.
