About this Event

This webinar will introduce our parents to the services offered by SOS SEN, a charity that works to support parents through the legal and procedural process that parents sometimes need to navigate to get the right support in place for their children.

It will also cover what you need to know about an EHCP: · Requesting an EHC needs assessment – how to do it and what information to submit · Timeline for assessment and issuing EHC Plans, including how to enforce deadlines · Criteria for assessment · What to do if the assessment is refused · What happens during an assessment if it is agreed, including what reports the LA should obtain · Criteria for deciding to issue an EHCP and challenging refusal to issue · Process for producing and consulting on draft EHCPs · Brief overview of what should be in an EHCP and points to look out for when checking.
