Statement on @SWLSTG #adhd # autism diagnosis story in the #news
You might be aware of a news story about possible changes to assessments for ADHD and Autism in our Boroughs. We want you to know that ADHD Richmond has been working with @SENDFamilyVoice @expresscic & @NASrichmond for a month now on this matter and various discussions have already taken place with, not least, the Clinical Commissioning Group which has a legal duty to make sure children can access a diagnosis service. ADHD Richmond has been asked, by the two Commissioners for Kingston and Richmond, for access to our Talk/Meeting on Wednesday evening June 21st (see flyer below) to hear the important views of parents/carers. This will be a valuable opportunity to make our voice heard and taken into account. Everyone is welcome, please email: communications@adhdrichmond.org to reserve a seat.
The CCGs have not yet agreed to any proposal and will be taking our views into account when discussing it. They accept that they will need to consult publicly in the event that they do decide to go ahead with changes to eligibility. Our representations will be discussed at the very highest levels within the local Health service.
The issue will be discussed again on June 15 by South West London St George’s Trust Board – the first part of which is open to the public 9am – 10.30am and the venue is different from the website. It is at Springfield Hospital in Wandsworth but it is at the Recovery College, a multi coloured building which I believe you can’t miss (past Harewood House but not down the hill).
