Terms:

16 hours per week, with flexibility required in how these hours are worked. This may include some evening and weekend work to support events. 

Location:

The role will be a virtual role with occasional requirement to travel to attend meetings or events in person (including weekend or evening events) in the Richmond area and beyond. Sometime in the future there will be a requirement to work from an office space in Richmond or Kingston.

Salary:

£12,800 per annum (equivalent to £32,000 FTE)

Benefits:

  • Employer pension contribution: 3% of salary
  • Holiday entitlement: 30 days per year, including bank holidays (pro rata)

Role Overview

ADHD Embrace is a charity with community at the heart of it. Our work is to support parents and professionals living and working with young people with ADHD and also supporting the young people with ADHD themselves. We aim to ensure that young people with ADHD are understood, supported and thrive by offering a range of services to our ADHD Embrace community.   

The Marketing Lead is instrumental in the strategic planning and execution of all marketing and communications initiatives, directly supporting the overarching business plan and organisational objectives. This role is pivotal in engaging with our community and the wider community and also driving the charity’s growth by ensuring the consistent delivery of compelling and brand-aligned content across diverse media platforms. 


Key Objectives of the Role

  • To significantly enhance community awareness and engagement, leveraging available platforms to positively elevate the charity’s reputation for support provision and impactful delivery. 
  • To produce high-quality content that directly contributes to annual growth and engagement targets, ensuring optimal utilization across multiple platforms to maximize the charity’s return on investment. 
  • To develop and implement effective communication strategies that support fundraising objectives, specifically assisting with the promotion and coordination of key fundraising challenge events to optimize income generation opportunities. 

Key Responsibilities

Marketing and Communications

  • Develop and deliver high-quality content across newsletters, social media, and other platforms to promote ADHD Embrace’s mission and services as well as community engagement. 
  • Day-to-day management of the website, ensuring platform and is contemporary, relevant, and engaging and content is up-to-date. 
  • Design and produce branded materials including flyers, press releases, event collateral and Annual Review and Impact Report. 
  • Sourcing relevant imagery of our activities as well as relevant stock images to support messaging our mission and the impact of our work. 
  • Ensure consistency in tone, branding, and visual identity across all channels. 
  • Develop appropriate analytics to analyse engagement and campaign performance using tools such as Google Analytics and share insights and regular updates with the Executive Director. 

Challenge Events Fundraising

  • Promote and coordinate individual and group challenge events (e.g., charity runs, cycles, treks) and dealing with all aspects to ensure they achieve challenge event fundraising targets. 
  • Act as the main point of contact for challenge event fundraisers—supporting their journey, advising on platforms (e.g. through ADHD Embrace website or third party platforms), coordinating arrangements for each event and keeping them motivated. 
  • Attend key events as a representative of ADHD Embrace, assisting with logistics, participant engagement, coordinating photography and post-event follow-up. 
  • Work with the Executive Director to identify new challenge event fundraising opportunities and build partnerships with external organisers. 

Other Responsabilities

  • Collaborate with the wider team and work closely with the Fundraising Manager and Operations Administrator. 
  • Coordinate community events such as ADHD Embrace Family Day. 
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested by the Executive Director.

Person Specification

We are looking for a dynamic and well-rounded Marketing Lead to deliver all marketing and communications activities as well as challenge fundraising activities supporting the overall business plan and objectives. This generalist role will oversee our marketing content and communications platforms to engage with our community and externally and also lead the coordination and promotion of challenge fundraising events. 

You will play a central role in growing our visibility, deepening engagement with our community, and supporting challenge participants in raising vital funds through marathons, cycling events, and other community-led initiatives. 

This is a hands-on role that requires a mix of creativity, organisation, and relationship management. You must be available to attend and support in-person events, including occasional weekends. 

Knowlegde and experience:

Essential:

  • Strong marketing and communication skills with experience in content creation. 
  • Proven ability to manage social media and website content (WordPress or similar and Social Media scheduling tools such as Buffer, Hootsuite, etc). 
  • Experience coordinating or supporting fundraising events or campaigns. 
  • Excellent organisation and project management skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to support and motivate volunteers and fundraisers. 
  • Comfortable working independently and remotely. 
  • Willing and able to travel to in-person events (own transport is beneficial). 

Desirable:

  • Experience using design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Express). 
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms and CRMs (e.g. Mailchimp, Donor box). 
  • Knowledge of ADHD or experience working within a neurodiverse or charitable setting. 
  • Data analysis and reporting skills to assess campaign performance.
