About this Event
The evening will be an opportunity of our community to come together with other parents and professionals and connect. The format of the evening is to start with a panel discussion and then followed by an opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine or soft drink together and meet others on the ADHD journey.
The panel will cover the topic of “Societal and Parental views on ADHD.” It will explore the feelings of parents around the diagnosis of their child (ranging from denial, relief, sadness, coming to terms with their child’s diagnosis) and then also looking at informing the wider family and friends. It will also look at societal views from blaming mothers (and fathers) for the child’s behaviour through to the prejudices and stigma that still exists and how greater awareness of ADHD and the increased number of diagnoses of ADHD is shaping perceptions.
The panellists will be announced shortly. There will also be an opportunity for Q&A.
