Many students with ADHD find it difficult, and sometimes overwhelming, to prepare for exams (planning and organisation). The Study Skills course will give participants the tools and support to enable them to succeed at what can be a very stressful time.
The course aims to:
- Help them identify and plan what they need to do
- Take ownership of the process by setting realistic goals
- Develop personal strategies to avoid procrastination
Course Content outline:

Session 1 Discovering your values and strengths |
In this session, students will explore what drives them and identify their natural strengths. Developing self-awareness, lays the foundation for greater confidence and resilience when facing challenging tasks. |

Session 2 Mastering revision techniques |
This practical session introduces strategies for effective exam preparation. Students will learn to create a versatile revision framework that applies to all subjects, offering a structured path through the study process. |

Session 3 Identifying motivation and planning ahead |
Focused on motivation and mindset, this session encourages students to set goals and plan ahead. By deciding on key steps in advance, students will feel ready to begin their revision journey with confidence and a clear sense of direction. |
Who is this course for?
GCSE and A Level students (school years 10 - 13)
How long is the course?
This three week course with sessions of an hour each, will be run on the following dates:
- Thursday, November 5th
- Thursday, November 12th
- Thursday, November 19th
What time is the course?
6 pm to 7 pm
Cost
The course is £65 per person for three weeks.
There will be a maximum of 16 students on the course to enable participants to ask questions.

The course will be held in Richmond Borough.
Presenter
The course leader is Helen Booker. Helen has nearly 20 years’ experience as a secondary school teacher and also has lived experience of ADHD. She is also a qualified personal development coach, where she has experience in helping young people with ADHD to build self-awareness and confidence to fulfil their potential.
