About this Event
This is an extension workshop, available only to parents who have a child or teen with a dual diagnosis of ADHD and Autism, and parents who have previously participated in one of Noël Janis-Norton’s six-week or eight-week online parenting courses.
This workshop will cover the following:
- Explore the complexities of AuDHD, including the traits that are similar to both diagnoses and the traits that present almost as opposites. The unique profile of AuDHD makes managing emotional regulation and improving behaviour significantly more difficult, compared with a child or teen who has received only one diagnosis.
- Discuss the challenges, and support parents who are feeling confused, possibly overwhelmed, almost certainly exhausted and frustrated.
- Discuss with parents how to apply the ‘Calmer, Easier, Happier Parenting’ tools to the issues that are often very problematic in AuDHD families. Explain that in order to achieve significant improvements in emotional regulation and more mature behaviour, it will be necessary to be more determined and more consistent, and to focus on being a United Front with the other adults who live in the home.
- Discuss two specific and very important issues that are often very problematic with AuDHD children and teens: making sure they get enough good-quality sleep and limiting their screen time.
Parents are asked to participate in the workshop with their video cameras on. Participants are also encouraged to ask Noël questions in order to get the most benefit from this learning experience.

About the speaker
Led by Noël Janis-Norton, parenting expert in Calmer, Easier, Happier Parenting, with extensive experience working families with children ADHD, Autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions. Noël is also author of numerous books covering a variety of subjects around supporting families in parenting issues.
