  • Metacognition involves understanding how you think & being aware of how you learn
  • This session will look at the relationship between attention difficulties and metacognition in learners with ADHD.
  • You will come away with practical metacognitive strategies that support planning, organisation, self-monitoring, and independent learning.
  • You will learn about evidence-informed approaches that educators can use to improve engagement, confidence, and learning outcomes

About the speaker

Michelle Rondeau is an Assistant Headteacher in a large three form mainstream primary school, and the Joint Trust Inclusion Lead across a number of schools. She has been a qualified class teacher for 15 years, 7 of these have included being a school SENCo within two different primary schools.  Michelle has a Master’s in Education (Leadership and Management), NASENCo Award and has received accreditation from Nurture UK. She is currently a 4th-year part-time Doctorate in Education student at Kingston University, researching class teachers' perspectives on metacognitive strategies used in mainstream classrooms and how they support children with attention difficulties.
