About this Event

Following the recent publication of their book “Mastering Life with ADHD for Teens: A Self-Help Guide for Teenagers”, which is aimed at providing a practical workbook for teens with ADHD, we will have Dr Jo Steer and Lucy Willetts lead a seminar. 

The seminar is:     

  • An opportunity for parents to join the session with or without their teenage children 
  • Covers a teen friendly overview of ADHD
  • Provides practical strategies and ideas for managing the common challenges of ADHD at home such as executive function and daily organisation, parent-teens conflict and independence, routines, managing homework, sleep and hobbies. 

 

About the speaker

Our speakers have a wealth of experience in working with teens from those who were diagnosed at an early age to those only diagnosed as teenagers.  Through their respective careers both have supported teens with ADHD to navigate the challenges and working with them to provide tools to navigate life. 

Dr Jo Steer is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Associate Director at Achieving for Children where she is Head of the Emotional Health Service and an ADHD Embrace Ambassador. Jo has authored several books on ADHD including “Understanding ADHD in Girls and Women” as well as the most recent one "Mastering Life with ADHD: A Self-Help Guide for Teenagers" ,which she co-authored with Lucy Willetts. 

Lucy Willett is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in private practice having worked with children and young people throughout her whole career.  Having worked with young people with anxiety for many years, she has an understanding how their anxiety is often caused or impacted by neuodivergence such as ADHD or austim and has developed a passionate interest in this.  She is also co-author with Dr Jo Steer on the recently published book "Mastering Life with ADHD: A Self-Help Guide for Teenagers".
