Effective from 1 November 2025, single Autism or ADHD assessments in Kingston and Richmond will move from the Emotional Health Service, within Achieving for Children, to South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust, often written as SWLStG. You will be contacted directly about the transfer, and your place on the waitlist will move with you.
What is changing
From 1 November 2025, the service responsible for single Autism or ADHD assessments will be provided by the SWLStG Neurodevelopmental Assessment Service, based at the Trinity Building at Springfield University Hospital. This is the team that already completes complex assessments across the five South West London boroughs.
If your child is already on the waitlist
- Your existing referral and wait time will transfer, and you will not need to start again. Families will receive direct communication about any next steps.
- Before 1 November 2025, Achieving for Children will continue to manage the current list and communications. After the transfer date, SWLStG will hold the list and will schedule appointments.
How referrals work
- New and existing referrals for Kingston and Richmond continue to go through the CAMHS Single Point of Access, often called SPA. SPA screens referrals and routes families to the most appropriate team.
- Achieving for Children provides the children’s services locally and publishes SPA phone details and an online form for the Kingston and Richmond area.
What to expect from assessment
The Neurodevelopmental Assessment Service supports children and young people who may have Autism or ADHD. You can expect structured information gathering, a parent or carer interview, observation of your child, and a clinical review with a written outcome and recommendations. Appointments will normally take place at the Trinity Building at Springfield University Hospital.
After the assessment, you will receive a report that explains the outcome, and next steps for support in school and at home.
Support while you wait
You do not need to wait for a diagnosis to receive support.
If your family is on the waitlist, there is still plenty of support available right now.
ADHD Embrace offers practical guidance, learning opportunities, and a supportive community to help you while you wait for an assessment.
